Kitchen wares giant Williams-Sonoma wants to buy the building at 601 Broadway in Sonoma where 96-year-old founder Chuck Williams (pictured) opened his original store in 1956. But there’s a problem. The company's plans to open a store there is running afoul of proposed new anti-chain store restrictions in the historic town. There’s a city council hearing Wednesday to sort it out, the Press-Democrat says.
