Details of Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi’s alleged manhandling of his wife, former Venezuelan actress Eliana Lopez, are trickling out via the arrest warrant affidavit. It describes a Jan. 1 videotape taken of Lopez by a neighbor, Ivory Madison, the day after the alleged blowup that’s gotten Mirkarimi in big trouble. And it’s plenty unflattering. Here’s an excerpt from the Chronicle’s Jaxon Van Derbeken:
On it, Lopez is crying and points to a bruise on her right bicep where she said Mirkarimi grabbed her during the confrontation the day before, according to an arrest warrant affidavit prepared by police Inspector Richard Daniele of the domestic violence unit.
"This happened yesterday," Lopez says on the video, according to the affidavit. "Two times in 2011, and this is the second time this is happening.
"I told Ross I want to work on the marriage - we need help," Lopez says on the video, according to the affidavit. "I (have) been telling him we need help and I'm going to use this just in case he wants to take Theo away from me because he ... said that he is very powerful and he can do it."
Noted: Theo is the couple’s 2-year-old son. The newly-sworn sheriff is currently barred from being around his wife and son, pending resolution of the domestic violence charges against him.
