Not that it matters much, but Oakland has officially given up trying to develop a waterfront ballpark, aka the Victory Court site near Jack London Square, for the A’s. The evaporation of state redevelopment money was the final nail, the head of the city’s soon-to-dissolve redevelopment agency told Alameda supervisors yesterday, the Oakland Trib says.
Add: Plan B, if you want to call it that, is to try to build a ballpark near the Coliseum (can you say parking lot?). Of course, A’s owner Lew Wolff has no pulse for that, either.
