Occupy Oakland protesters clash with police; over 400 arrested*

A wild day and evening on the Occupy Oakland front, with protesters breaking into City Hall, burning an American flag taken from council chambers, briefly entering a YMCA and then tearing down fences while trying to commandeer the long-shuttered Henry K. Kaiser Convention Center near Lake Merritt. Police moved in with tear gas and flash grenades, and as of 8 this evening arrested as many as 150 people, AP says. Three police officers were reportedly injured, none believed seriously.
