Things have gotten
nasty between Keith Olbermann and his bosses at San Francisco-based Current TV. Olbermann apparently believes his title as “chief news officer” gives him say over anchors Current hires, and control of the 8 p.m. time slot, when his Countdown show appears, even when the station airs special election coverage, the Hollywood Reporter says. His lawyers are talking to Current’s lawyers about his future role at the cabler.
Add: Olbermann sat out coverage of the Iowa caucuses the other night, apparently to avoid being embarrassed by the technical difficulties Current encountered in preparation for the broadcast. Filling in: Cenk Uygur, Jennifer Granholm and, yes, Current co-founder Al Gore.
