The Raiders have hired 39-year-old Dennis Allen, the Denver Broncos’ defensive coordinator, as their new coach. Multiple sources say that Allen informed the Broncos last night in Mobile, Ala., site of the Senior Bowl, after meeting with new Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie to iron out a deal.
Add: He becomes the first Raiders coach with a defensive background since 1969, and a fellow named John Madden.
