SFPD federal corruption probe, an update

The Wall Street Journal updates the federal imageprobe of SFPD stemming from last year’s revelations of alleged officer misconduct brought by Public Defender Jeff Adachi, and distinguishes it from 20 or so investigations of police around the country this way:

The criminal investigation in San Francisco is different from those civil probes because officers could go to prison.

Add: The piece, which is behind a paywall, says the tally of criminal cases that DA (and former police chief) George Gascon has dismissed in the last year as a result of alleged misconduct is at 137.
