Supremes block GOP bid to overturn state Senate maps

The state Supreme Court this morning upheld the state Senate maps drawn up last year by an independent citizens commission, and that’s a big deal. As AP reports, it’s a setback to GOP attempts to block Democrats from gaining enough seats to pass taxes on their own.
