After 30 years, ‘neighbors from hell’ wear out their welcome

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

imageThink you’ve got bad neighbors? Berkeleyside’s Tracey Taylor writes about the pink stucco house at 1722 Ninth Street that’s been a hotbed of crime for 30 years and has housed at least 15 people with criminal records. It was declared a public nuisance last week and the City Council is being asked to order it vacated.

Add: The property’s longtime owner, who is 77, objects, of course. He’s promising things will get better.
