The Oakland Tribune’s Matthew Artz says that’s how many people lost their jobs Wednesday when all was said and done, a far cry from the plus-100 that Mayor Jean Quan had talked about weeks ago and that was later reduced to 80. The explanation: officials were able to streamline and shift a bunch of people whose jobs were to be chopped into vacant positions.
