Unlikely crime story from Berkeley High School via Berkeleyside’s Francis Dinkelspiel: The school’s safety committee was scheduled to meet yesterday but there was apparently some confusion about how to proceed after the arrest of the committee’s longtime former chairman—for identity theft. Billy Keys, 41, the school’s head of security, is accused of breaking into a teacher’s desk and using the teacher’s financial data to make purchases. Oakland Tribune has more.
