At San Jose State plans take shape for Bill Walsh Center

Friday, February 10, 2012

imageSan Jose State is pressing ahead with plans for a football complex to be named in honor of its most famous sports alumnus. And while the Mercury News says the Bill Walsh Center, to be built at the north end of Spartan Stadium, isn’t a museum, serious students of the game will appreciate this:
The first floor will house San Jose State's athletic Hall of Fame and Walsh memorabilia, including his 500-page thesis on the flank offense, which Craig Walsh described as the precursor to his father's famed West Coast offense.
Noted: It’s being funded entirely with private donations. Target opening is fall of 2013.
