Thursday, February 16, 2012

imageAlameda County district attorney Nancy O’Malley has withdrawn from a possible assault prosecution against a former boyfriend of Supervisor Nadia Lockyer, citing conflict of interest. The Chronicle’s Matier & Ross blog says O’Malley will turn the case over to state Attorney General Kamala Harris’ office.

Add: The supervisor and wife of state Treasurer Bill Lockyer alleges she was beaten up at a Newark motel Feb. 3 while with her ex-boyfriend. She has since entered rehab for substance abuse. No charges have been filed. The ex-boyfriend, Stephen Chikhani, 35, of San Jose, has told the Oakland Tribune that Bill Lockyer made up much of what the couple said happened at the motel.
