The digging’s done but California’s first highway tunnel in nearly 50 years likely won’ be ready for traffic until November or December, the Chronicle says. Work at the landslide-prone Highway 1 trouble-spot between Pacifica and Half Moon Bay began in 2007 and was originally expected to open in late 2010, but the geology of San Pedro Mountain proved tougher than expected.
