Mayor Jean Quan scored a victory of sorts yesterday in her pushback against Occupy Oakland when a judge issued orders barring 12 protesters arrested over the weekend from coming within 300 feet of Frank Ogawa Plaza. Quan had vowed to seek so-called stay-away orders against repeat arrestees at the movement’s rallies.
Add: The 12, who weren’t publicly identified, are the first to be formally charged with crimes in connection with Saturday’s hooliganism, eight with misdemeanors and four with felonies, the Oakland Trib says.
