The “other man” in the Nadia Lockyer scandal appeared in a San Jose courtroom today, long enough to blurt out to reporters, “There’s a way bigger story than the sex tapes.” He then obeyed his lawyer’s order to clam up. The Mercury News’ Julia Prodis Sulek says that Stephen Chikhani, 35, of San Jose, appeared ready to talk to waiting reporters about his alleged affair with the Alameda County supervisor and the now-famous Feb. 3 incident in which she claims to have been assaulted in a Newark hotel room. News of a reputed sex tape involving Chikhani and the supervisor leaked out over the weekend. Add: Chikhani was in Santa Clara County Court for a hearing on meth charges from last September. The hearing was postponed to March 22. Meanwhile, no charges have been filed against him in connection with the hotel incident, which is being investigated by the state Attorney General’s office.

Before Chikhani's lawyer ushered him away from reporters Tuesday, Chikhani said that "everything was mutually consensual" between him and Nadia Lockyer.
