What’s known about the Nadia Lockyer saga took an even more unflattering turn over the weekend, with the Mercury News and its affiliated newspapers
honing in on the troubles surrounding the Alameda County supervisor. Turns out she met the “ex-boyfriend” implicated in the Feb. 3 motel incident in which she claims to have been assaulted back in 2010 during a previous drug rebab. (She announced last week that she’s in rehab for substance abuse.) And their split appears to have been rather recent. Among other things, the piece by Josh Richman and Julia Prodis Sulek contains some jilted lover’s text messages from the wife of state Treasurer Bill Lockyer to Stephen Chikhani, from the day after Christmas, including this one:
“THE LAST 3 MONTHS U PUT ME THRU HELL N BACK -- N MORE. YOU WILL SEE N FEEL THE PAIN YOUR LIES HAVE INFLICTED IN MY HEART SOUL EVERY MOMENT YOU FIND YOURSELF ALONE OR BORED WITH ANOTHER."
Add: Chikhani has a long arrest record, including for possession and use of meth. And, as the Chronicle’s Matier & Ross add today, he was
busted again over the weekend on drug charges.
Noted: For its part, the Chronicle is choosing not to publish his name, even though Chikhani gave an interview to the Oakland Tribune last week.
