Move over, Meg Whitman. After parsing the numbers, Oliver Luby at CitiReport concludes that San Francisco Assessor-Recorder Phil Ting set a per-vote spending record in his unsuccessful race for mayor. Ting spent an astonishing $510.45 per vote, compared to Whitman’s paltry by comparison $43 per vote in losing the 2010 governor’s race. Of course, Whitman spent $178.5 million; Ting about $500,000.
