Ex-lover’s lawyer disputes Lockyer’s claims about jail visits

Thursday, March 22, 2012

imageNadia Lockyer’s attempts to—however briefly—explain her jailhouse visits to her ex-lover last year as that of an attorney visiting a client isn’t going over well with the reputed ex-lover’s lawyer. An attorney for Stephen Chikhani, the man with whom Lockyer allegedly had an affair and whom she claims beat her up in a Newark hotel room in February (no charges have been filed) is telling the Oakland Tribune’s Josh Richman another story. An excerpt:
"I know she signed in as a lawyer, but they were not legal visits," said attorney Adrienne Dell, of San Jose. "She definitely abused that; there's no question in my mind. They were still in a relationship."
Add: The troubled Alameda County supervisor and wife of state Treasurer Bill Lockyer emerged from drug rehab and mostly dodged reporters' questions while meeting with colleagues at a work retreat Tuesday.
