Goldman Sachs exec quits; says it’s ‘toxic and destructive’

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

Today is Greg Smith’s last day on the job as an imageexecutive with Goldman Sachs and the Stanford grad has made sure that it’s memorable. In a scathing opinion piece in the New York Times, he describes the culture at Goldman under CEO Lloyd Blankfein and President Gary Cohn as “toxic and destructive” and essentially says he can’t take it anymore:
"I attend derivatives sales meetings where not one single minute is spent asking questions about how we can help clients. It's purely about how we can make the most possible money off of them."
