Judge snuffs out cigarette pack warnings

You know that federal Food and Drug Administration plan to require cigarette makers to cover half of each package with graphic anti-smoking images like these? A federal judge has blocked it, calling the mandate an “impermissible expropriation of a company’s advertising space for government advocacy,” says the LA Times’ Booster Shots blog.
