The much-tracked first gray wolf known in California in 87 years has returned to Oregon, at least for now. Oregon Fish and Wildlife officials say his GPS tracking collar shows that, after roaming around the Cascades near Mount Shasta and beyond for a couple of months, he passed back into Oregon Thursday, the LA Times says. That’s OR7 in a picture from a trail camera in Oregon last November.
