San Bruno disaster
This morning’s announced settlement calls for PG&E to fork over $70 million in restitution to establish a non-profit entity to help San Bruno recover from the deadly 2010 pipeline explosion and fire that claimed eight lives and destroyed 38 homes. The payment is in addition to the utility’s commitment to pay for infrastructure repair and neighborhood restoration, the Mercury News says.
