Santorum: closed East Bay fundraiser, then off to see the ‘candy man’

Thursday, March 29, 2012

imageRick Santorum is at the home of Ubokia.com CEO Mark Pine in the East Bay today for a fundraiser co-hosted by Golden Gate Tea Party founder Bridget Melson that’s closed to the press . . . unless they’re willing to donate to Santorum to get in. From Danville Patch:
Media will have the opportunity to wait outside of the event and potentially interview guests and, maybe, Santorum.
Melson added that they are doing their best to be as media friendly as possible.
Add: Santorum’s other area event today is at the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield (Ronald Reagan plus jelly beans, get it?) at the invitation of company chairman and GOP donor Herman Rowland. It’s billed as a “Rally for Rick,” but as California Watch points out, Rowland is an equal opportunity GOP candy man. So far this cycle he’s given to Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney.
