UC Regents session turns rowdy at Mission Bay; protesters tossed

Thursday, March 29, 2012

imageThat’s someone being arrested this morning at the UC Regents meeting at UCSF Mission Bay, tweeted by the Chronicle’s Vivian Ho. There were apparently at least three arrests after things became unruly. Police drove several dozen protesters outside. Among other things, students are upset that the meeting was scheduled during spring break. The session is continuing, with loudspeakers piping the sound outside.

Add: KQED’s Caitlin Esch posts a sound bite from a Daily Cal reporter’s interview with student regent Alfredo Mireles Jr. while the room was being cleared. It’s pretty noisy in the background.
