Tuesday, March 20, 2012

imageThe man with the familiar and seemingly ubiquitous radio voice is hanging up his microphone after a career spanning four decades. Media blogger Rich Lieberman says his last day will be April 12. Melrose joined KCBS in 1975 and has put his stamp on a slew of memorable Bay Area stories, including the Loma Prieta earthquake, the Oakland Hills fire, the Scott Peterson trial, you name it.

Add: His bio at CBS San Francisco says he’s also witnessed four executions at San Quentin.
