United Airlines made official today what the travel
press has been reporting for a couple of weeks: it’s pulling out of Oakland International Airport in June after a 75-year run there. The reason: It was losing money. The airline currently has 11 weekly flights between Oakland and Denver, serving barely more than 1 percent of passengers who pass through the airport. Last flight is June 3, Bay City News says.
