After much flak, HuffPo basks in Pulitzer’s glow

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

imageOf yesterday’s Pulitzer Prizes Staci D. Kramer at PaidContent writes: “The Huffington Post won a Pulitzer Prize Monday. The world didn’t end.” She notes that David Wood’s winning the prize for his 10-part series, Beyond the Battlefield, examining the lives of catastrophically injured soldiers, came at a particularly fitting time. Doonesbury’s Rick Redfern character is “still struggling after being laid off by the Washington Post, [and] wrestles with whether to work as an unpaid blogger for HuffPo,” she notes, adding:
HuffPo does rely on unpaid bloggers for much of its content but it also has a staff of paid professionals, many of them poached like Woods’ editor Tim O’Brien from top media outlets like the NYT.
