Bill Lockyer stays mum on Nadia, plots next career move

Monday, April 30, 2012

It’s apparently full speed ahead for state Treasurer Bill Lockyer’s plans to run for state Controller in 2014, when he’ll be 73—despite the meteoric downfall of wife Nadia Lockyer as an Alameda County supervisor. So far Bill Lockyer isn’t answering questions about what he knew of his wife’s addiction problems while pumping $1.5 million into the 2010 campaign to get her elected. Nor has he addressed her assertions that he provided her with drugs during the early years of their marriage. For a Mercury News piece today, as has been his M.O., Lockyer sends spokesman Tom Dresslar out as the talking head.
