Ross Mirkarimi’s media barnstorming gets a
nasty early review from the Chronicle’s editorial board, which lambasts him as a “cornered politician” who’s “changing his story” while “shopping for sympathy” to “salvage his career.” Of his KQED Radio appearance yesterday, the Chron writes:
His revisionist history was almost laughable when he claimed to have never called the allegations a private matter. The recordings of his meeting with reporters after his January swearing-in clearly tell otherwise. His voice welling with emotion at times, Mirkarimi's admission of shame and having made a "terrible mistake" were accompanied by far too many moments in which he essentially portrayed himself as a victim.
Politics,
