The Center for Investigative Reporting says it will use $800,000 from the Knight Foundation to start an investigative YouTube channel in partnership with the Investigative News Network. It’s to launch in July and will feature video from NPR, ABC News, The New York Times and others, plus its own video, Mediabistro says. From executive director Robert Rosenthal:
“One of the goals of this partnership will be to raise the profile and visibility of high impact story telling through video. We hope this initiative generates revenue that supports the work of nonprofit organizations and independent filmmakers everywhere. Collaborative efforts like this are no longer the future of journalism, they are today’s reality.”
