Even while losing, Warriors pack ‘em in at Oracle

Monday, April 9, 2012

imageThe Warriors may be losers on the court, but with six home games to play they’re on pace to post their second-highest attendance in franchise history. (They've drawn an average 18,998 per game through March 30, SF Business Times says.) Considering the loyalty long-suffering fans have shown the team during all the lean years in Oakland, it makes ownership's flirting with the idea of a future dream arena in San Francisco seem a bit . . . ungrateful?

Add: Matier & Ross note today that owners Joe Lacob et al aren’t enamored of throwing in with the Giants to develop a new arena near AT&T Park. They’re said to be exploring Piers 30-32, near the Bay Bridge.
