It’s a wrap for Bay Citizen-NYT collaboration

Sunday, April 29, 2012

Today’s the swan song for The Bay Citizen providing content to New York Times pages zoned for Bay Area distribution. TBC’s merger with (or, in practical terms, its acquisition by) Berkeley’s Center for Investigative Reporting becomes official tomorrow and the new regime chose not to continue the NYT arrangement.

The finale: A piece on Muni’s chronic reliability problems by Zusha Elinson, and a backgrounder on Oakland PD policy changes in the aftermath of the Occupy protests by Shoshana Walter. Plus a “Local Intelligence” feature on the work of International Bird Rescue, the group that help’s protect the bay’s aquatic birdlife.
