No charges against Nadia Lockyer’s ex-lover

File this one under late Friday announcements so that fewer people are likely to notice. No charges will be filed against the ex-lover of ex-Alameda County Supervisor Nadia Lockyer in that Feb. 3 Newark hotel incident in which Lockyer claimed she was assaulted. The lawyer for Steven Chikhani, 35, of San Jose (that's Chikhani in a Facebook photo) says her client is “very relieved.”

Add: The case had been referred to state Attorney General Kamala Harris’s office after the Alameda County DA’s office recused itself. Nadia Lockyer used to work for the Alameda DA’s office and she and district attorney Nancy O’Malley are friends. Mercury News
