At a Tuesday presser with the Bay Bridge as backdrop the Walnut Grove (that’s suburban Sacramento) Democrat decried the new east span’s construction with Chinese steel (a tad late isn’t it?) and urged BART to have new train cars made in the U. S. (even though rolling stock of the type BART uses isn't manufactured in this country).
Add: The one-time lieutenant governor and former Cal football star’s district includes part of the East Bay.
