Mary Hayashi reportedly inquires about Nadia Lockyer’s old job

Wednesday, April 25, 2012

imageGuess which active politician with a police mug shot has inquired about replacing newly-resigned Alameda County supervisor Nadia Lockyer? Steven Tavares at East Bay Citizen says that Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi (D-Castro Valley) has contacted three of the four supervisors (who will appoint Lockyer’s replacement) to express interest.

Add: Hayashi, of course, pleaded no contest to grand theft (reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor by San Francisco superior court judge Gerardo Sandoval) after making off with $2,400 worth of merchandise from Neiman Marcus on Union Square last October. She has ignored newspaper editorials calling for her to resign.

More: As for her prospects of replacing Lockyer, East Bay Citizen quotes an unnamed county source as saying, “She would never get it.”
