The Pulitzer Prizes were announced at noon Pacific time, with the New York Times claiming two
(for explanatory reporting and for international reporting) and the Philadelphia Inquirer winning the coveted public service award. You can view the complete list of winners. Notably, Eli Sanders of Seattle’s alt-weekly, The Stranger, won for feature writing. The Huffington Post claimed its first Pulitzer, via veteran military correspondent David Wood’s series on catastrophically wounded soldiers.
