imageLarry Riley is out as general manager after a tumultuous year in which the team passed on the chance to offload Andris Biedrins, let Jeremy Lin waltz into stardom in New York and took a huge gamble (which may or may not yet work out) in jettisoning Monta Ellis in order to acquire the often-injured Andrew Bogut. The new GM is Bob Myers, 37, (pictured) Riley’s assistant since last year following a long stint as an NBA player representative, the Chronicle’s Rusty Simmons blogs.

Add: Riley will take over as the team’s director of scouting.
