The former executive editor at the Examiner will oversee communications, social media and assist in public policy and strategy as Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom's deputy chief of staff. Hussey spent 10 years at the Ex before leaving in February as part of the regime change there. She’ll work out of San Francisco’s state office building. Yesterday was her first day on the job.
