Giants’ Guillermo Mota suspended 100 games for doping*

Monday, May 7, 2012

Major League Baseball announced the suspension this morning after the Giants’ reliever tested positive for Clenbuterol, a performance-enhancing drug. Leaving the cheating aspect aside, makes you wonder if the stuff is any good. Mota was 0-1 with a 5.06 earned run average in nine games this season.

Add: It’s the second time around for the 38-year-old right-hander. He drew a 50-game suspension in 2006 for a substance violation. AP

[Update] The Merc's Tim Kawakami says it's probably the end of Mota's career. Ya think?
