Ken Alexander, longtime editorial cartoonist was 87

The former chief editorial cartoonist for the old San Francisco Examiner died May 9 at his home in Lafayette. He was 87. He had come to the newspaper as art director of the Examiner’s one-time weekly magazine, and wound up serving as chief editorial cartoonist for 25 years until he retired in 1989. Obit: Chronicle
