Obama affirms support for gay marriage

In an interview with ABC News, President Obama affirms his support for the right of same sex couples to marry, becoming the first sitting U. S. president to do so. His watershed announcement comes a day after voters in North Carolina approved an amendment to that state’s constitution to ban gay marriage.
