Did no one notify relatives of the slain Oscar Grant III about former BART cop Johannes Mehserle’s recent appeal to overturn his manslaughter conviction in Grant’s death? That’s what Grant’s mother and uncle tell a news conference in Oakland this morning. They’re angry at both Alameda County district attorney Nancy O’Malley’s office, which prosecuted Mehserle, and state Attorney General Kamala Harris’s office, which represented the DA in opposing the former cop’s bid for an appeal. KQED says neither office responded immediately.
