The 80-year-old Fremont Democrat who’s seeking his 20th term has been quiet lately since a rash of foot-in-mouth campaign statements, including accusing Democratic challenger Eric Swalwell of bribery. (He later apologized for that one.) Today he picked up the endorsement of President Obama. Josh Richman has the news release at Political Blotter.
