More unpleasant news for Village Voice Media, whose properties include SF Weekly, over its lucrative sex ad subsidiary, Backpage.com. A newly unsealed federal indictment in Iowa alleges a nationwide sex trafficking ring solicited customers on Backpage for prostitutes as young as 17. AP says a Village Voice spokeswoman didn’t immediately comment on the indictment.
