The man who on his arrival in 2006 revived Stanford’s sagging football fortunes by hiring Jim Harbaugh is leaving as athletic director to become commissioner of the Big 12 Conference. CBSSports.com, which broke the news, says a presser is scheduled for tomorrow. He replaces acting Big 12 commissioner Chuck Neinas, who was brought in after former commissioner Dan Beebe was fired last year. More at CBSSports.
