Talk isn’t always cheap: Obama’s $35,800 ‘round table discussion’

Thursday, May 24, 2012

President Obama’s latest campaign fundraising visit to the Bay Area last night and this morning has some by now familiar elements: $35,800 a head events, with wealthy Silicon Valley donors front and center. He was at the Atherton home of Levi Strauss heir Doug Goldman and wife Lisa last night to collect from tech heavyweights. This morning there was a “round table discussion”—again at $35,800 a pop—with 20 members of the Asian American/Pacific Islander community at San Jose’s Fairmont Hotel. Mercury News; Chronicle
