Turns out the 90-something-year-old Fairfield man that ex-cop Lyndon Lafferty’s new book pegged as the notorious Zodiac Killer of the 1960s—without naming him—is dead. The ex-CHP officer says he was alive four months ago before “The Zodiac Killer Cover-Up” went to press. But yesterday a Sacramento TV news crew informed Lafferty that if he ever hoped to get a confession, it wouldn’t be happening. A reporter at News10, the ABC affiliate, rang the man’s doorbell and within minutes a neighbor explained that the man had fallen in February and died before making it to surgery.
