At the peak of the pot boom in 2009, now-shuttered Berkeley Patients Group (it still operates as a delivery service) racked up more than $15 million in sales. And yet it registered only about $100,000 in net income. So where did the money go? Nearly $1 million went to salaries for top executives, with most of the rest going to expenses of one kind or another, says California Watch, which got hold of company accounting documents and emails.
