Dismal jobs report for May

The U. S. economy added just 69,000 jobs, less than half of what analysts expected, with unemployment inching up nationally to 8.2 percent. The terrible report is potentially devastating for President Obama as he faces reelection. Coupled with gloom in Europe, it is sending a chill through the stock markets. NYT
